CONSISTENCY was the key to Tony Holt's victory in the Lancashire Seniors'
Championship at Lytham Green Drive, writes DAVID BIRTILL.
The Wilpshire scratch man strung together rounds of 73 and 71, four-over-par
all told, to finish two strokes ahead of a field which contained several
former county players.
An eagle at the 518-yard fifth hole helped to atone for five bogeys on the
first day. He was more economical in the final round, three birdies offset
by a brace of birdies.
Thomas Lockwood, from Penwortham, was runner up on countback from Bootle's
Kevin Laffey.
Longridge's Jeremy Morgan, pursuing a hat-trick of successes, was fifth,
four shots off the pace.
